Got My Mind Set On You

I love George...and I am not George bashing...but if you have seen the video for "Got My Mind Set On You" you know that this is the funniest video ever in the worst and saddest possible way. First of all, is this really the BEST they could come up with? You know this wasn't George's idea...."Let's sit in a room and have literally every inch of the room bob up and down, SORT of in tune with the music. Oh yeah...and a squirrel playing the saxophone. A squirrel doesn't belong in a study? Really? Oh well. Let's do it anyway."

The whole video, George looks totally PO'd. To which my mom says "No, that's just how George looks" but I think he looks even more annoyed than usual. Then...there comes the bridge. When suddenly, for no reason, "George" cleverly disguised as a stunt double who looks nothing like him hops out of his chair and begins to do strange acrobatic dancing around the study. As the bridge ends, "George" hops back into the chair - cut to the worst piece of editing ever done - even for the 80's.

You be the judge yourself.

YES, I have to admit I never knew that George was SO great, damn he was too underrated.

I was really impressed that I have never heard about this song at all especially when George played it. George played it for some strange american band called Cheech & Chong in the mid of 70s. in 1974 actually. Billy Preston and some others also have played in this song.

just listen to this amazing guitar's riff:

all I can say is... this is an awesome song.

George's riff in this song reminds to me of Hendrix a bit. George. WAS. A. GENIUS.

cheech & chong - basketball jones

I've seen a few videos on youtube of him singing with others. Pretty awesome. George singing Homeward Bound with Paul Simon is one of my favorites. His voice fits the song perfectly. I like when they do Here Come the Sun too. Anyway, anyone know of any other times he sang with others throughout the years?
