I think he wore the same wire-rimmed glasses he fished out of his soup earlier in the movie as part of his disguise at the airport enroute to the Bahamas in Help!

Right! When they were disguised as their future selves. Love that part. So since that was a few  years before How I Won the War, where'd he get the glasses? Prop department? Guess he liked how they looked.

haha, I think that's about the last part of the movie I saw the other night before I fell asleep!  I must say, falling asleep and hearing those boys makes for a damn good sleep!!  lol

I've got two pair of glasses that I wear that are like John's.  One pair especially............round just like in "How I Won The War"..............

There's actually a John Lennon line of glasses out.  I haven't seen them online (then again, I haven't really searched).  I saw them where my mom and sister got their last pairs and they had round ones and then more of a rectangle shaped ones.
