I checked this section out and saw there was only two so-so threads on Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Well, I'm starting one on my "main man", Greg Lake. I'd thought I'd start with this little video of him. You heard of "Christmas in July".........well..........this is my "Christmas in June". I hope you all like it. Tell me what you think. http://youtube.com/watch?v=cahkZ1fXo-M
Love E.L.P. That song in my opinion is the best x mas ever , i was lucky to see Asia in March and Carl Palmer blew me away , i never realised he was such a great drummer . Greg Lake has a great voice and hes on the classic album Court Of The Crimson King , which is a prog masterpiece
Read the latest Story of Albert and find out the truth of The Battle Of Hastings and where it all went wrong for the English and indoor plumbing . @
Thank you Mr. Kite!!!! And I love Greg's voice from the King Crimson days. Too bad he was only on the first two albums...........but then he wouldn't have joined ELP. Good for you to see Carl Palmer. Amazing drummer..... I've got some good photos to post later...............
^^^^Mr. Kite!!! Very good picture of Carl. Thanks!!! I'm not what you'd call a prog rocker. The Beatles being my favorite.........then a tie between ELP and Pink Floyd. But the sad thing is I've never seen ELP in concert. Pink Floyd..........on the other hand...........me and a girlfriend chased them all thru Texas during the "Mometary Lapse" tour in 1987/88. Saw them many, many times. But sadly, never met them. But I did take awesome pictures of them. And...............I do have a "weakness" for Greg Lake..........Oh..........and I've NEVER considered Pink Floyd "prog" as other people do. I always called Floyd's music, "head music".............and I do like Yes.
That picture looks like it was taken around the same time as "Love Beach".
I love ELP; I think "Tarkus" is a fantastic album, but "Love Beach" has to be one of the worst albums made by anyone ever.
^^^^^^Yes, that photo was taken during the "Love Beach" era.............and I HATE that album. I can't listen to it at all!!! Terrible. But, yep, "Tarkus" is good. And I also like "Trilogy".
is there any live footage from that time ? ive been looking all over for live gigs from around the time of court of the crimson king and In the Wake of Poseidon
There is a very short clip of "21st Century Schizoid Man" on YouTube and that's about it. I've been looking too for stuff of KC when Greg was with them. Now Greg was with KC on "Top of the Pops" in 1969/70 while promoting the "In the Wake.." album. And then he left them after that. Now THAT would be the footage to get. I've got several pictures of that event with Greg in them.........in color and b/w.
